Nice Teacher

Mrs. Manno comes from California. She is a wonderful teacher who teached me Freshmen English last year. The way she teaches grammar is interesting. First, she'll teach it in the blackboard. Next, she'll give everyone a card and ask us to find our partner. Then we need to make a short conversation which bases on the grammar and talk to our partner. She is also good at making cakes.

Last Christmas, she wanted us to exchange gift with our classmate but we couldn't let others know who gives the gift. She also told us the story of Christmas and some decoration that used in Christmas.

Then she took out the cakes she had baked for all of us. It's really delicious though I thought it's a little bit too sweet. Anyway, it's the most wonderful Christmas I've ever had.

She's very good at telling stories, too. When she shared her own storied to us, all the classmates are laughing by her gesture and facial expression. She's so interesting that I'm really glad to be her students. Although she only taught for one year, I still love her. I think she's the best teacher I've ever met.

Memories of Tomorrow

This is a touching movie. It talked about a superintendent who lived in a happy life. He had achievement in his career and his wife always supported him in anything. His daughter, who was pregnant, was going to marry. But one day, he went to doctor because he had suffered from headache for a long time. He discovered that he isn't in good health anymore.
He began to forget the names of his colleagues, the way of going to work and the meeting time which is made in just one minute ago. Finally, he forgot names of things, his daughter and his beloved wife.
One day, he went to the place where he met his wife. There were some pictures flashed through his mind. He knew what happened between he and his wife in the past, but he couldn't remembered his wife's appearance. His wife also came to this place later because she couldn't find his husband. When she found her husband, her husband had already forgot her and treated her like a stranger.
After watching this movie, I really think I'm so lucky. My memories don't fade away and my beloved family are always around me. People often make promise that thet wouldn't forget someone forever, but promise is unpredictable because they won't know what'll happen next day. All people could do is seizing the moment.

Hands

Recently I found this piece of sculpture "conductor's hands." It was made by me when I was in junior high. At that time, art class was my favorite class. Every time, my art teacher always had different kinds of ideas. He would tell us the long history of art and bring us pictures of those famous painting. Besides, he would let students do the activity, like painting or sculpturing. My art teacher really knew how to combine art knowledge with interesting.

One day, he asked us to fing a picture of hand's gesture from newspaper and brought it to class. All of my classmates brougt one hand's gesture ,but mine was different. My art teacher said we had to make the sculptures of hand. Everyone made only one hand, but I had to make two hands. I was wondering if I could only do one hand. However, my art teacher told me that it wouldn't be a finished work if I only made one hand.

First, we use thin steel sticks and wire. Circle some wire as the palm and use thin steel sticks which entwine a piece of newspaper around the sticks as fingers. Then arrange the sticks in the right order like fingers and combine sticks with wire.Use a chunk of wood as the base and nail the hand on it. Finally, use a big lump of clay to cover the hand and adjust hand's gesture. Then begain to shape it.

This experience of making sculpture was really interesting. Although this work wasn't very pretty, it still had its value in my heart. It always reminded me of my art teacher who love art and enjoy art very much.

Warlords

This movie adapts from a novel of Ching Dynasty. Its background was in the nineteenth century. At that time, China was suffered from internal revolt and foreigh invasion. There was a general who lost all his soldiers in a battle. Then he met two leaders of bandits. All of them became sworn brothers. The general suggested all the bandits become part of government's soldiers so that they could get provisions and stop being bullied by other government's soldiers; meanwhile, the general discovered that the woman whom he met in the way back home and had one-night stand with was the wife of one of his sworn brothers.
The general led them to fight in many wars and got victories. At one war in Nanking, one of his sworn brother made promise that he wouldn't let the surrendered soldiers be killed. But the general killed them for fear that they might revolt. The government ordered the general to be a ruler of Nanking with a condition that he should kill the sworn brother who once disobeyed the rule of army. The general became so ambitious that he planed to kill the sworn brother and had his wife. In the end, the other sworn brother took revenge on the general.
In this movie, I saw the ambitious and tactical, betrayal and brotherhood, sincerity and hate. When benefit of all populaces is conflicting with brotherhood, which one to choose? It's difficult. If we choose the brotherhood, we may lose the opportunity to make benefit for populace. It seems selfish. If we choose benefit of all populaces, we lose our loyalty to sworn brothers or sisters. It seems lacking of loyalism. It's really a dilemma. Besides, I touched by their brotherhood at first. They could sacrificed for each other and never regret. They were all braves indeed. So I enjoyed the movie very much.

My Best Friend

I had a date with my roommate today. She's now study in Tunghai University. I was once studyed in the same university with her, but I transfered to another school this semester. We've known each other for four years because we were also classmates and roommates in the high school.

Though I'm in the different school, I still keep in touch with her. She's an interesting person who always jokes me in an inoffensive way. I will also joke her, too. She's very tall and thin that I'm a little jealous of her. She once told me that she didn't want be tall at all. I told her I wish I could stole ten centimeters from her.

When we lived in the senior high's dorm, we would study together and encourage each other. We shared our opinion in many things, like music or tv programs. We would share food and drinks, too. Both of us always had some snacks around us. Living in dorm, we had to clean our room and the different area of the public place, like the stairs or the dump. We would do it as a team.

Now I use msn or cell phone to communicate with her. Sometimes we would have date outside in order to know the other's recently life. I think our friendship won't fade with time. It will last forever.

It is an coincidence that one of her junior high's classmate are also my friend. She's also a transfered student from Tunghai University. I have one class with her. Therefore, we are familiar with each other.

Kite Runner

This movie is adapted from a famous novel. It a story about betrayal and atonement.
It happened in 70s in Afghanistan. Amir, a twelve years child who is from rich family, and Hassan, who is a servent's kid, are good friends. They like to share stories and fly a kite together. After the kite-fighting tournament, Amir began to keep Hassan at a distance because he saw Hassan was bullied but he didn't rescue him. Amir incriminated Hassan stolen his watch. So Hassan and his father left Amir's house. Then Afghanistan was invaded by Russian. Amir and his father went to America and lived there for ten years.
Amir got a phone call from an old servent who had watched the house for Amir's family. The old servent asked him to go to Afghanistan because he wanted Amir to rescue the boy of Hassan. Hassan was dead for against Russian. The old servent told Amir that Hassan is his half-brother. So Amir must save the boy because he is his nephew. In the end, Amir brought the boy back to America and lived together.
When I watched the movie, I was thinking about Amir's behavior. He didn't try to help Hassan when other kids bullied him, even severed their friendship. If I am Amir, I wouldn't do that. Maybe a twelve years old kid doesn't know how to deal with such kind of thing. But I think Amir shouldn't pretend that he didn't see it. He could do other things for Hassan just as Hassan always supported him in many things. When Amir went to rescue his nephew, I think he did a good job. He finally got his friendship back. This movie is really wonderful.

Under The Tuscan Sun

Last week, I went to library to watch this movie. I've heard it for a long time and very curious about it. So I was really happy when I saw the DVD was on the shelf of the multimedia center of library. In the film, I was fascinated by the beautiful scene of Tuscan. I wish I would visit this place once.
The movie is talking about a female writer confronted difficulty because of divorce. Her best friend who was planning a trip to Tuscan suggested her to go to Tuscan and had a good time.During the trip, she discovered a house which is in the suburb of Tuscan named Bramasole was on sale. She decided to settle there for her rest of life. She had no experience of living in Italy. But she adapted to it quickly by the help of friends she made there. She experienced a lot interesting events and finally found the feeling of home in Tuscan.
In the movie, I was impressed by the words of one of Italian friends. She scold protagnist for that she always stayed in the pain of past so she couldn't get rid of it. I was thinking about myself. Sometimes I would keep thinking about the bad things or mistakes I made. I would regret for a long time. So these words really give me something to think.

Painting

This is a painting about my junior high school's campus. It is painted by me in the art class. My motif is the pool. I chose it as my motif because it's very beautiful when sunlight shone on it. It seemed like a lot of star are twinkling in the pool. But I didn't like to be near to it for it had become a little stinky like it had never been cleaned for a long time. Therefore, I stood about two or three meters away when I was painting it.
At that time, my school would hold an art exhibition with all the works made by students. My painting was chosen as one of it. I was really happy. Beside the pool, there is a sculpture which is a big hand pose elegantly. Behind the sculpture is a tall tree and the classrooms. There are lots of trees in this campus, and I always feel very comfortable about that.
However, this place had become desolately since I graduated from this school. It's because that this school is in the area which has earthquake frequently. So they move away. I'm glad that I've painted its beautiful scene.

What I Learned from the Dormitory Life(revised)

After graduating from senior high school, I had a wonderful life in the dormitory in my freshman year. It was my first time to live in school, so I was a little nervous. To be honest, I wasn’t very good at doing chores and taking care of myself. So I was worried about what my life would be like in the dorm. At the beginning, I was very frustrated by my clumsy behavior and engaged in the chores all the night. I spent a lot of time getting used to the life. Finally, I found that I not only got used to my dorm life but also enjoyed it very much. Because of living in the dormitory, I learnd some priceless experience from dorm life.
The first thing I learned was how to live independently. I had totally independence in almost everything. However, I had to learn how to do the laundry or prepare my meals. I could use my pocket money with my own will or go to anywhere at any time without asking
my parents' permission. I was really happy that I can be the master of myself. But I gradually realized that independence means I have to take responsibility for myself. If I made an unforgivable mistake or got into troubles, I had to deal with it on my own. Although I could ask my parents to give me some advice to solve the problems, I still couldn’t escape from it. After all, no one can escape all the problems in the world. Being independent really makes me mature.
Besides, I learned how to manage time. Learning time-managing skills has a deep effect on me. I always thought that I was a busy person, but I realized I was totally wrong when I analyzed my schedule. I did have a lot of time, but I didn’t do the right thing at the right time. That’s why I felt busy. Since then, I have made it a rule to write all the things I have to do and decide which one to do first. By keeping this good behavior, I have had plenty of time to do what I’m interested in. For instance, I read more novels and watch more movies than ever. I’m not a bookworm anymore! I know actually how to enjoy my life.
Furthermore, I also knew how to build good relationship with others. Living in the dormitory provided me with many opportunities to get along with my classmates. Therefore, I could know them better and try to make friends with them. I would go to their rooms and chat with them for a long time. Finally, I made several good friends in my freshman year. We did almost everything together-like watching movies, discussing homework or films and so on. Although we had arguments sometimes, we would talk to each other to understand what made us furious. After a few hours, we would forget it and begin to chat with each other. In this process, I learned lots of experience of dealing with my friendship with others─communication is the best way to reconcile conflict.
I’m glad that I lived in the dormitory. Though it brought me some troubles, it also gave me a chance to become mature. Learning how to be independent helps me know how to be responsible to myself. Knowing how to manage time helps me to have more time to do what I like and get along with my family or friends. Trying to have good relationship with others also makes me grown because I know how to handle the problems of relationship properly. To me, living in the dorm isn’t a nightmare but a wonderful experience.

Schindler's List

This movie is a adaption of a true story. It talked about the Jews Slaughter during the World War II. In this film, a Germany businessman named Schindler saved lots of Jews who were persecuted by Nazi.

Schindler was only thinking about his benefits at first, so he hired those Jews who took less salary than other people. He changed his mind after how those Germen kill Jews in a cruel way. He decided to help those Jews from the slaughter. Therefore, he hired as much Jews as he can because they could live if they worked for him. He even bribed those soliders with all his property.

I think Schindler is really great. He had no obligation to Jews, but he saved them. He even been suspected to offend against law for protecting Jews. But he never regreted. After Germany surrendered, those Jews were free. They made him a ring as a token of his doings for Jews. In the end of the film, those people who still live, had been rescued by Schindler put stones in the grave of Schindler to show their gratitude. This is the most touching scene to me. This movie is really wonderful!!

Bikeways of HouFong and DongFong

In summer vacation, I and my classmate went to bikeway to enjoy riding bikes in the beautiful view of countryside. HouFong bikeway was once the way for train, but it becomes a way for people to ride bikes now. In the route, we passed the Tunnel No.9 and The Variegated Beam Steel Bridge. There are some stores or stands selling food and drink for people. Oh, there is a kind of ice shavings called snowflakes ice shavings. It tastes wonderful especially in hot summer.

This is the Tunnel No.9. It was built in the time when Taiwan was colonized by Japan. In the tunnel, you can see some old pictures. Besides, you may feel cool even a little cold.

This is The Variegated Beam Steel Bridge. Riding in the bridge and watching the Dajia River below the bridge. It's really cool.

←Delicious lunch~~
→This is the famous snowflakes ice shavings!!! According to the boss, this has been sold for thirty year!!! It's really delicious!!!

The end of HouFong bikeway~
It's about six kilometers from the beginning to the end.

HouFong bikeway and DongFong bikeway are connected. Therefore, we kept riding to the DongFong bikeway. In this path, we saw a lot of different works of art and some cute three-dimensional simplified maps.

This one of those works of art. It is in a special tandem bicycle shape. It has four seats for people to take picture on it.

I think this is the cutest map I've ever seen. It records the route in a cute way. There are no words in it. Simplified images are the only thing that on the map like use train to replace the train station.

In addition, the most beautiful view to me is the ''Green Tunnel.'' On the both sides of the route will plant plenty of trees. The trees stretched their branches and overlapped with others' branches.

This is what I called the "Green Tunnel."
It's really beautiful!!!

Oh, this work of art is made by many useless bikes.
Its appearance was painted in silver, so it seemed very wonderful.
Very amazing!!!
Though my legs ached very serious at the next day, I still very enjoyed the experience. Since that day, I've fallen in love with riding bike. I even finished the whole route. The totally length is twelve kilometers and I spent about four hours to finish it. Riding with my friend was very happy. We encouraged each other to keep riding until the end. It was one of my valuable memories. Unforgettable one!!!

HORSE riding

When I was a child, I saw those actors riding horses. At that time, I always dreamed about riding a horse and galloping in prairie. Recently, I made this dream come true though it was not like what I had imagined.
On August 10th, I and my roommates took part in "Musical Instruments Festival" which was held in Houli Race Course. Except for good reputation of keeping horses, Houli is also very good at making saxophones. Therefore, lots of special saxophones were on display that day. However, those lovely saxophones were forbidden taking pictures. It was really a pity!!!
In addition to the performance of musical instruments, there were many cute horses inside Houli Race Course. Everyone could have the chance to ride on horse even children.

THEY ARE REALLY RIDING A HORSE!!!

though there were someone who took the halter......

How could I GIVE UP the chance of riding horse? I decided to give it a try! It only cost 60 NT dollars.

This is the first time for me to ride horse!!!

To be honest, I was a little afraid at that time.

but I overcame my fear......
Since that day, I realized that riding horse wasn't as simple as I saw in the TV. First, riders have to be careful when they get on horses. The real horses are very tall. If riders didn't notice, they may fall from horses. Second, riders shouldn't scare horses. If the horses were scared, they will run very quickly and become difficult to control. Sometimes horses may begin to run suddenly. At that time, riders should have to use the tips which taught from equestrianism instructors. By the way, people can't ride horses alone when no equestrianism instructors are there.
I think I'll never forget that day. When I rode the horse, I was very close to the real horse. I can feel his breath. That was really amazing!!!

9/30freeing writing 1

In my childhood,I love to read books which always have interesting story. When I read those books, I'll pretend that I 'm one of the protagnists. I 'll beat the monster or the bad guy with my partner's help. In the end, I 'll get treasure or have a happy life with my lover. I was so indulging myself in the story that I always forgot what I was doing.
